Booking in shipping is similar to pre-booking ports or transportation services, enabling shippers to reserve space for their goods before actual shipping. This proactive step streamlines logistics, ensuring efficient capacity planning, documentation preparation, and coordination.
Go to the Shipment menu on the left sidebar.
Select the desired shipment to which you want to add booking.
Navigate to the Booking tab -> Add Booking
This action will direct you to the corresponding Booking window.
Provide the necessary details and click Save.
Go to Shipment -> Booking tab
Click the button adjacent to the booking you want to view.
Choose the View option.
You will be directed to the View Booking window, where you can examine the booking details.
Go to Shipment -> Booking tab
Click the button adjacent to the booking you want to view.
Choose the Edit option.
You will be directed to the relevant Booking window, where you can edit the booking details.
Once you have made the necessary modifications, click on the Save button.
These are the essential fields necessary for booking a shipment.
Carrier
The carrier responsible for transporting the shipment
Move Type
Type of movement (e.g., import or export)
Import
Indicates if the shipment is for import
Service Type
Type of service provided by the carrier
Booking #
Unique identifier for the booking
Origin Port
Port of origin for the shipment
Destination Port
Port of destination for the shipment
Booking Date
Date when the booking was made
Loading Date
Date when the shipment is scheduled for loading
Commodity
Details about the goods being shipped
Nature of Goods
Description of the nature of goods
Commodity Description
Description of the goods
Vessel Details
Details about the vessel carrying the shipment
Final Place of Delivery
Final delivery location for the shipment
